My parents just got a new TV with a picture-in-picture feature. Well, my dad wants to run video from the cable box in the back to the TV in living room so he can watch the Falcons, the Braves (before they lost anyway), and the NASCAR race and do less John sKerry between the channels. He thinks it will be about a 40ft. run.
Is this too long for video? If not, what is a good source for a RCA video cable this length of decent quality? He doesn't want to have to use (2) 20ft. cables. Thanks!

Go to bluejeanscable.com. He can custom order some. And their prices are reasonable.

Wes,
Does he need coax or RCA? Sounds like you're describing coax. Any good run of RG6 would be fine, even at 40 foot.

My dad was acting like it was a video output. Maybe I'll call back and check.
I know he has the tools to custom crimp to any length of coax he wants, so that isn't a problem.

I'm running approx. 45-50' for my component video and s-video cables. No problems here.

There should be no problems provided you use the correct cable.
