They say the're 400 watts bridged. I was hoping someone could shed some light on this amp. Are those numbers inflated, or would this amp be suitable to drive a tempest?
I was thinking of getting rid of my adcom 545II to get one of these. Any input?

how much you thinking about spending?
Parts express has a 500W (299.00) and 1000W (399.00) new plate amps, just a thought.

I don't really have much money right now, so I was entertaining the idea of seeing if someone wanted to trade.
Failing that I would spend about $400.
The Adcom GFA-555 is a monsterous, and I do mean...monsterous amplifier man...
Loads and loads of current, 800 damping factory. Perfect sub amp...

I have an Audiosource Amp driving the RTI70 front speakers, and the amp does a very good job. I tried bridging it to drive the center channel, but couldn't hear the difference between the Denon 3803 and the Amp 3 -- probably more distortion at the bridged level. With driving a subwoofer, the distortion is not as important. I believe it should be fine for driving a sub. There was a test done by hometheatherhifi (I think) on the amp 3 in stereo mode, and the amp produced true 150w RMS in stereo mode. My guess is since its wattage was not inflated in the stereo mode, the bridged mode should be very similar.

i would think the parts express 250W amp would be enough for the tempest, especially in a larger enclosure. only 128.00 plus shipping last time i check. i'm using it to power a shiva in a 142.5L enclosure (ported) and is more than enough,
