Mother locks kids in self-storage unit...WTF!

I am reading the morning paper and come across this:

Casselberry, FLA.

A mother would lock her 8-year old boy and 12-year old girl in a self-storage unit while she went to work. The kids were found with the family dog in unit A37 at Uncle Bobs self-storage.

Temperatures would reach up to and over 100, a bucket for a toilet, no running water, with only juice to drink and a bowl of water for the dog.

This lady needs to be tied to a post infront of a firing line and removed from this planet.

There are some sick people in this world, and sick is not a strong enough or right word to use for this women. She should be tied over a fire ants nest with honey poured on her. How could someone treat children this way. All you read or see is bad things going on or had happened. Why can't reporters focus on good things going on. Some think movies give kids bad ideas just let them watch the news. They could learn all kinds of horrid ideas.

You are right. There should be more good news on the tv. But you know what? Everytime I am sitting down listening to the news and hear another story about "ballons for little kids in the city" or "the panda that had a baby today at the zoo..." -- well, I hate it. I think, "What the hell is this crap".

To be honest, there is only so much "good" news I can take.

I love this kind of stuff. I mean, I am fascinated by how effed up and stupid we are, and by how fascinated we are with effed up and stupid people.

In Argentina, or Belarus, or Gabon or some such third world place, you think they are fascinated with this kind of stuff? Nope, they just need their next meal. We allow this stuff to consume us (me, at least) and that's part of the fascination. In Romania or someplace, where people live in huts and eat dirt, the kids would die, and life would go on. You'd never hear about it.

You'd be freaking amazed at the effed up stuff that goes on in corners of the world where the Entertainment Tonight and Good Morning America cameras never dare.

But here in 'Merica, where we seem to think we'd know better, wackos are still locking their kids in utility sheds, driving them seatbelted into lakes to drown, and holding them hostage in cult compounds as human shields when the law comes a'knockin.

Fascinating! I love this! Do it MORE! MORE MORE MORE! We are 'Merican's! The highest standard of living on the planet! Most educated population on earth (which could be like saying, we are the most educated population in the universe, AFAWK)! What the heck else can we do to upset the bell curve?

...I've thinking about your post. The thing is I am from Argentina, so you get the idea. It wasn't nice to read it and I'm sure your intention was not to offend anybody. I respect your opinions and you are certainly entitled to them, but bear in mind that some foreigners also read this forum.

We have our problems like everybody else and we try to solve them as everybody else does. Of course there are people in my country who have a hard time, but so do people in the US. I've seen people sleeping on the streets in Manhattan, in winter, and they are probably worried about surviving the night, not even a meal. Maybe it's not representative of the US but they are still people.

I' like to add something else: I love my country and we also have our good things. You should go there, you'll love it too.

And please understand my feelings. I don't mean to offend anybody with this post.

I meant to say, look at us -- we're 'Merica! AMERICAN! The greatest nation ever on earth or any other planet! And look how goofed up we are! I know that in Argentina you are not constantly giving air time to wackos who lock their kids in storage sheds -- and we shouldn't either!

That's my point. It's actually a backhanded complement to other countries who don't have all the idiotic distractions we have in this country, god love us.

Sometimes, 'Mericans livin in 'Merica make me think long and hard about where we've gone wrong -- SOMEONE FOUGHT AND DIED FOR THAT WOMAN'S FREEDOM TO STORE HER KIDS IN THE UTILITY SHED ON HOT DAYS! There's something wrong there. Argentina is paradise. Compared to that utility shed.

You know, that's interesting. These folks on death row in this country -- who are all innocent, of course -- should be tested for DNA evidence pronto and then taken care of, one way or the other. Now. What's the wait? Every day is another "3 hots" that is coming out of my own lunch money. The so-called appeals process is wearing me out.

Plus, if we start clearing out the death rows, we'll have more room for, you know, the hemp growers and kidnappers and cult leaders and televangelists and such.

You guys missed the whole thing. This woman was providing shelter and security for her children. She was also ensuring that they weren't out getting into trouble. She was also teaching them some important life lessons, like how to improvise when times are tough and that storage sheds just aren't for dead bodies in trash bags any more...er, um...strike that last one, not like I'd know about that personally or anything. She did leave them with a bucket of piss warm juice to...or was that warm juice and a bucket to piss in, I get confused. But anyway at least she let the kids have a dog! She's not all bad.
