From a newbie (its going to get obvious fast)
I just bought a Pioneer 814 and Polk's new rms6750. The AVR has 100-150-200 crossover settings. I set that to 200 cause I read it somewhere to do that...
I have set all speakers to small (naturally) and hooked the sub to the AVR's preout using a sub cable with an adapter that goes into both RCA jacks on the sub. Did I get it right?:(

If you have the front and rear speakers wired directly into the AVR I believe you should set the AVR X-over to 100. If you are running the speaker output to the sub and then to the speakers you should disable the AVR X-over and use the sub's internal x-over (assuming the sub has that feature).
Good luck and welcome!!

Seems like you are one track...
Your satellites are small, so you may need to go higher than 100 for the x-over setting, but 200 seems too high.
Try all three settings, repeating the same scene from a DVD and see what sounds best to you.

Thanks for the information and the welcome!
The sub does have a phase control (is that the crossover control with a different name?) and a volume control. Anyways, I will try different permutations and hear which is best. This is a very helpful forum; thanks Mr. Polk!

Welcome.
The phase control is not the crossover.
