Currently have the Polk RM7500 and a PSW650 sub. I am looking for some feedback on these speakers as well as a way to improve it. The receiver is a Yamaha HTR5250. It just isn't sounding right when playing music, tends to lose midrange.
Any suggestions/comments?

Perhaps you need to get speakers just for 2 channel?

Lsi are musical as can be!

Right you should buy yourself a pair of bookshelves and use the B of your receiver for music

You may need to back-off on the sub a little when listening to music. Subs sound really cool on movies, but can muddy things up on music.

very true right on when you are running sats as they do not have as big midrange therefore the sub is needed to fill in those gaps

Ah yes, calibrate the sub to match with your system better. The sub should integrate with the system and not stick out like a sore thumb.

Go to radioshack and get an spl meter. Use the spl meter in conjunction with your receiver's tones or an avia disk (or pretty much anything with a steady sound output) to calibrate all your speakers including the subwoofer.
