I noticed that a member is selling a pair of these speakers. I checked them out on Polk's website, and they look very intriguing to me. I like stereo music, lots of bass, and have no sub. They really seem to fit nicely. I'm afraid I'm not interested in getting them now, but I think I could definitely put them on a list of speakers to buy one day if I seriously dive into audio.

What does everybody know about these? How do they sound? What kind of reputation? etc, etc

Thanks!

I have a pair of these guys and love 'em. Nice tight bass, clear mids and highs. They are a bit veiled at lower volume. Turn it up and they really shine.

Two, things:

1.) They are HEAVY (~75lbs. each) Not easy to move around, no handles or any good grab points. It's best to have 2 people handle them.

2.) To get the best out of them, they need big power. Did I say big? I mean BIG power. I used to drive mine with a 300 watt/channel pro amp, but it would clip! So now I'm running a
600/watt channel pro amp. BINGO! Just what the Doctor ordered.

If you don't have short hands, they aren't that bad. I can easily move them around, place one hand at the top backside and another on bottom opposite side (above the feet on speaker cabinet). Lift.

You are right on power. I now have 500WPC going on them and they sing much better. Not very musical but they do good job for HT. I replaced them with LSi7's and now they are doing casual listening duty on my living room.
