did anyone actually buy an assload of these speakers fot the $175 price? were they actually letting pairs go for $175? if so my cousin is looking to get a pair of these for christmas.

You can look back a page or two in this forum and read about what transpired. I don't believe anyone actually got a *pair* for $175. I think it was more like $300--- which is still not bad at all for a pair of these speakers.
