Gift-time Problem

I need to purchase a portable radio/cd/tape combo as a pollyanna within the next couple days. This means no mail order. This is Philadelphia, so we have Circuit City, Tweeters, and a few smaler stores about. I can spend up to $200, but less is better. Smaller is better, too.

OTOH, I can't bear buying something with no sound quality at all.

Sorry, can't help you there. I don't know anything about mini systems but there are plenty to choose from. I've seen some small and sexy looking units at the store. Go to CC and Tweeter and check them out.
