amperex tube ???

I was digging in some odds and ends that I had not been into in quite some time, since the 80's to be exact as the box was at my parents home. I found an amperex 13gb5/xl500 and I am sure that it has never been used as I remember picking it up, but I do not remember what for. Any ideas what this one was for or if it is worth anything?

Beam power pentode tube. Probably for old TV's. Worth? Not much.
