Anybody know how to hook up the subwoofer with this combo???? I was just wondering because I might get the 6900 sometime in the future. Anyway, the 6900 has a LFE jack, but the manual and polk don't recommend using it. I dont know how to turn off the low pass filter on the onkyo (I'm not even sure if it has one) but I really don't want to wire the receiver to the sub then the sub to the speakers. Anyone know if it's ok to just hook up the sub with the LFE pre out and adjust the crossover through the 502 settings?

Polk has always used the thru-the-sub method, but many here on the forum use the LFE out. I would try both and see what works best for your setup.

k, well i have pretty much all the wire i need already. i'm just gonna have to go the lfe route. i'm not gonna bother using the speaker wire way unless someone can testify that it REALLY sounds NOTICEABLY better than through using the lfe. after all, ignorance is bliss ;)

I never hooked my 6600s thru the sub years ago. I always used the LFE as my receiver had remote control from my seating position. Lazy me!!
