Ugh. I set my expectations too high for this one, I kept waiting for a big twist at the end, but got a small one.

Best part of the movie is Natalie Portman in a thong for a fairly long scene.

She did a full frontal nudity scene but a few weeks before the film came out she decided to have the director cut them out.

I'll probably wait until DVD for this one...

I'll probably wait until DVD for this one... only because they might have it in the deleted scenes??? :p :p :p

I haven't seen it yet, hearing bad things though. I'm usually not a big fan of the 'slice of life' movies, but I'll end up watching this one with the wife I'm sure :(

I have not seen this movie, but one thing I do not understand from the previews is, who in the world would choose Juila Roberts over Natalie Portman?

I dream of Natalie with long brown hair:D
She is a babe and Julia can't hold a candle to her. I'll be watching Closer tonight....can't wait

I borrowed this and watched it last night, what a steaming pile of shit. The ONLY reason to even see this film is for Nat in a thong and I'd fast forward to that.

Don't waste your time or money.

Just got done watching this. Not to bad. Everyone is a whore, which was kinda funny at times. Decent movie that makes you appreciate love when/if you have it.

No, they don't. This was released as a "Superbit" edition, so no space for deleted scenes.

wait, why would this need to be in Superbit? Not a drop of action to justify the DTS and in HD, it would only be nice for the "Night Club" scene. :p

I liked the dialouge, and eventual brutal dialogue which grounded the characters into reality.

Additionally, I thought that it lost focus....then picked it up again, but the involvement was lost at that point.

I thought that all the perfomances were unlike the cast, which was cool, and was struck later by the verbage from Julia Roberts, as it was not ....uh, typical. The writing is very candid.

I am not a JR fan but she was oddly subdued and not put on a pedastal in this role....it was very human....unlike most of her roles. Perhaps it was a transitional role for her, hopefully she'll continue.

Natalie Portman was a doppleganger in this film, and performed much better than any "Lolita" type previously. You emotionally connected with her more than any other character prior to their appearance and subsequent involvement. I thought the smooth operation of her sex was almost unprecedented in this role, as it's neither over the top, nor lame....perfect for the application. She's very versatile and prolific in demanding roles, otherwise she's common.

Jude Law was just too loose for me to grab the character as an individual, unaffecting....simply an add-on to me. I can't add anything positive for him, sorry.

Clive Owen was outstanding. He is by far the standout of the film in regards to emotion and brutal contact. He's deft in the translation, and singular in the outcome. Clive goes from slimy to hurt to powerful in ease....with very little deference to the viewer. The transition of emotion is outstanding. Excellent. He is easily the best actor in this film.

If you hated the movie, at least watch it again, and make another opinion. I liked it, nothin' mo, nothin' less.

That's just my opinion, F off.

This one surprised me! I rented it and couldn't believe I actually enjoyed it. I remember seeing the trailer and wish I could fast foward it in the theaters...

I will buy it when Sony releases a "Ultimate 2-Disc SuperBit Edition."
