Here is what I am thinking of doing. I only have about 500 to spend for this right now, maybe 600. I want to put some MOMO 5.25 components in front, they come with 2 tweeters, 2 kicker speakers, and 2 crossovers. On my rear deck, I am wondering if I can fit 2 POLK 3 way 6X9, DX9's. Either that, or the more newer supreme model. Ive heard these both in person, and they sound great. Plus I want to go my whole system with the POLK or POLK/MOMO aspect.

Right now I have a Kenwood KDC-716s head unit, and dont really care too much about changing it now, since my system wont be completely done yet, just the inside of cabin, and well its still missing the bass.

Heres my problem, right now, my car pretty much cant play the cd player unless my car is on. Does that mean my battery is low, or I dont have enough watts?

I dont want to run the interior off of the face unit, I want to get a 4 channel amp, and run tweeter/speaker for both front right and left, and then in the back, each speaker there on there own channel, so thats 4 channels.

How much RMS will I need to power that per channel, 50 x4? Whats a good brand for an amp, where would I install this? I know that down the line Ill need another amp to power my subs, but for now, I just want a clean install of stuff to power what I have in mind. Thanks

My main goal is to be able to play music, loud, clear, and a little bassy without having to use ne subs yet, while my car is stopped and with the engine not on. . Well not really, but Id still love to be able to do this.

Im thinking I can get the momo components for front for 200, polk dx9s for 100, and then i need just an amp, and money to install. All items are brand new too. What sort of amp should i get. thanks

I got a couple questions:
What kind of vehicle is this going in? (4dr, 2dr, truck, van, SUV)

Are the MM455 component speakers going to be mounted in kickpanels or factory door locations?

With the bass that you want now or later, are you more oriented toward SPL(massive bass pressure) or SQ(true full sound)?

My recommendations:
Get only the MM455 components up front and amp them 100-150x2

Plan for a MM100 sub @ 400x1

As I can recall you have a decent head unit

Sound like you have some electrical problems that need to be sorted out (probably a bad battery). Check out these forums for lots a stereo info:
www.CarAudioResources.com (few people, good help)
www.termpro.com (lots of people, lots of help)
http://forum.SoundDomain.com (may get ripped for choosing Polk)
www.CarAudioPlanet.com (small, fun, helpful)

Amps:
PrecisionPower PCX2125
JL Audio JL150/2
(sorry these will probably well out of your price range, you can find lots of info at any of the above forums as well)
Alpine
RockfordFosgate
(lots of others out there)

You will also undoubtedly get a greater # of responses in some of the these other forums.

Hope this helps a bit, Ken :)

SQ Stereo parts at present:
Alpine CDA-7977 -- JL 500/1 -- PPI PCX280 -- a/d/s/ 3.46is -- a/d/s/ 312rs.2
To come yet:
Monster Cable -- Cascade Audio -- LOTS OF TIME ;)

Had planned on PolkMOMO but there's no dealers in my area.

If you can not play the system for any length of time without having the car running, then you might want to have the battery checked. There maybe a bad cell or something is causing a fairly high current draw. Check the static voltage and amperage consumption by using a digital V.O.M. The Voltage should read around 12.6 Volts. The static current draw should not exceed 50 milliamperes. If you need to replace the battery then try to fit the largest battery possible that will fit into the factory loacation.
Regarding recommendations for a amplifier... I would suggest looking for a 4 channel amplifier that has a power rating of 125 to 150 Watts per channel as a minimum power requirement. Some brands that you might want to consider are Alpine, PPI, Eclipse,
Kicker's ZR series, and Zapco. You might also want to consider using 2 stereo amplifiers for this application.

Thanks,
Kim
