Dynamat....Where do you put it?

I've seen a few folks talk about Dynamatting the interior of their gear. So my question is there any methodology to using it? I mean, do you just cut even proportions and stick it on the covers (without covering the vents of course) and find empty spaces in the chasis to lay down a slab? I've seen it on power transformers as well.

Just wanted to get some input on how one goes about doing it or if it even matters as long as the "weight" is there.

I can see it would be easy to put "balance" on the cover but the inside of the chasis might be a challenge with all the components in there.

Cut it for any thin piece that "rings or resonates" when you tap on it. This can be chassis spaces, support bars, transformers, you name it as long as you aren't trapping heat and causing thermal problems within the unit.

Slap it on anything that moves! :D

Seriously, put it on as many places as you can as Dennis has stated. I recommend the Extreme version with the metal layer on one side to help with heat issues.
