You could always call up Carver and hope they sell replacements. As for universal remotes, I highly suggest something made by Harmony.

I don't think that Carver will be much help as Carver as we once knew it is no more...

Universal is about your only hope.

If you want a cheap universal remote, try the Sony RMVL700, RMVL700s, or RMVL900. These can all be bought for less than $20 from ecost or pcmall. The RMVL700s is the only one in stock right now, but they usually have all of them. So far I've ordered at least 10 for different people and they all like them.

If you get one of the non-internet updateable remotes, make sure they support Carver. There should be a long list somewhere with the universal remote.
