Got myself another Carver M-500t mint in the box. Price? Laughable. Now I will experiment with the AR-9's, and swap out the big Onkyo M-5090 for this new Carver, driving both top and bottom with the same amps, two M-500t's.
Also picked up a NAD 1020A pre-amp. Really cherry, original box and manual. I've already convinced myself it is the same preamp that went into the classic NAD 3020 integrated amp. The preamp stage was the reason it became a classic, like the Advent 300.

Does the 500 bridge? How about twin 500's bridged, each throwing a hump in the woofs only? I figure you've got enough laying around to handle the top end.
The phono stage in the 1020/3020 was no slouch either. That's the gear that put New Audio Dimension on the map, so to speak, no?
Haven't gotten much after the big Dynaco haul last week. Today, Revox cassette, Nak portable cassette, and a Marantz 8b.
I'm still waiting on a 300.
Cheers,
Russ

I was thinking the same thing, and could use a brand new TFM-35 that I have had for 10 years, for the top end. HOWEVER, the woofers drop down to 2.9 ohms. Not where a bridged amp ought to be driving. Who would've thought a 30 amp dedicated line was what I'd need for my research instead of only a 20.
I could vertically bi-amp the 9's with these also. I could haul the two M-500's into the He-Man rig, toning it down from 1,000wpc to 700wpc, and drive the 9's top and bottom with the 375wpc M4.0t and TFM-42.
My laboratory beckons..........

If it doesn't pop a breaker, it isn't worth owning.
