Plugging a sub into a HTS 3600?

Which freaking outlet should I use? Should I use one of the ultra high current timed outlets and just leave it on all the time? Or would it be ok to plug it in on the switched outlet about the reciever?

I had been thinking about getting one for awhile and tonight at Tweeter I found one that someone had returned after a day because it didn't fit their stand. Got it for $450, so I went ahead and broke down and got the darn thing. My mom and dad were over and we were watching some of my HD channels, then I unplugged everything and hooked up the 3600. Maybe I'm seeing things but I swear I can tell a difference. To most people it'd be crazy to spend $450 on a surge protector; but so far I'm happy with it.

Yeah, I have one, too. Not surprised that you noticed a difference, depending on what you had before.

Yes. Most subs automatically turn on when they sense a signal.

I had it in the ultra high current one. I thought I was right; I just wanted to double check with some of you guys that know alot more than me. Thanks for your help.

I just had a regular surge protecter. It was a RCA performance series. Think I spent about $50 or so on it at Best Buy a couple of years ago. I've been itching to upgrade something and I just couldn't see a SVS or LSis in my apartment. I figured I'd work from the wall out until I finally buy a house and have room for that stuff.

I choose not to plug my SVS into my HTS 5100, simply because where I have my sub is too far away from the rest of the equipment. I don't have any complaints with my sub's performance plugged into the wall. I'm also pretty sure a sub's amp has its own surge protector built in.

If you do notice a difference in perfomrance, more's the better.
I have my B&K 507 hooked into the 5100, at 150 Wpc, having plugged it into the high current amplifier outlet set to swithed/delay. Never had any problems, and the volt meter usually stabilizes around 119 V with everything running.

I have two SVS's plugged into my 3500 mkII. I'm using the two high-current outlets with no problems.
