Got my 1500a Parasound today

should i turn the THX levels up all the way ,I have a Denon 3802 and wanted to make sure it could handle it,I also went with the biwire seemed to be the right thing ta do,cant wait to get it up and running. and any other pointers or info is nice:)

The adjustable gain, which is what your talking about, should be at the maximum for it to be at THX reference level.

Ive got it hooked up on stereo with the left and right power cables pluged in here to my Denon front left and right channels, im not getting much sound here need help first amp? Do i go to direct mode

I can only "assume" that you have RCA cables running from the L/R outputs on the Denon to the inputs on the back of your amp...

Speaker wire running from binding posts on the back of the amp to the speakers? Right?

Any other speakers,C,L/R and back Surrounds are still being driven by the Denon...

I can't imagine not getting an improved sound out of your L/R Mains,unless,somethings just not "right"

You might have to recalibrate the system,anytime you make changes,you should do this...

Are you interconnecting the Parasound to the Denon's "Pre-outs" (correct) or its "Amp In" RCA jacks?

It's probably too late, but as a future precaution I've heard many times that, especially when dealing with an amp make sure you turn it off *and* unplug it before connecting or disconnecting anything to it.

I guess it had to reset once everything is hooked up.I didn;t have a lot of time to mess with it last night but when i got home today i turned on both sets and it was working.Thanks again.One more question do you have to turn the amp on and off everytime you use it.I was thinking it would turn itself off and on.

Hi Minime. We have the exact same equipment. You will have to turn on the amp manually, since the 3802 doesn't come with a trigger.

I have gotten into the habit of just leaving mine on all the time. otherwise I forget to turn it on and then wonder why it doesn't sound right!:o

If the AVR receiver has a switched outlet, then add a 12vdc wall transformer wired to the 12vdc trigger. So when you turn receiver on then it will turn on amp also. That's what I do :D


BTW I do it this way (vs. Auto ON by sound) because if you're are using the amp in HT also then at times the amp can shut off due to extended quiet times on the surround channels.
