Sealed or ported

Can you make a sealed sub into a ported one with a port tube from partsexpress? Or do I need to do something to the inside of the sub? thanks

You need to find the T/S parameters for the driver to see if it is suitable for a ported enclosure.

Then you use those specs and a program like Unibox to design the box.

Often sealed boxes are too small to convert to ported.

If you cannot find or measure the T/S parameters, than I suggest you do not modify the box.

Thanks, the sub is a 3 cubic ft with a Titan 3 15 in sub from partsexpress

In that case you should be able to ge the T/S specs from PE. You can throw them in Unibox and see if the box will work.

Don't forget to accomodate for the port, it takes up space too.

He can always have the port sticking way out of the enclosure, like an exhaust pipe. Tune it to 18 Hz and away you go.

What was the outcome of the exhaust pipe ported sub? Sounds like a plan I'd come up with, except I was hoping that it would work! If it did work, would dual exhaust get me more performance?

Which gives me another idea. What about a nitrous injected cabinet for really deep passages of music or movies? Would the additional oxygen molecules simulate a bigger cabinet?
