I'm thinking about setting up another HT.I'm also thinking of using some former Polk mains/center...I'm wondering if the CS400i is as good a center as all the reviews state.

About all the adds on e-bay say: Polks best center ever...

I've owned a CSi130,a CSi140 and currently have a CSI5,but I've never experienced the 400...Is there anyone that has owned this speaker that also might have a CSi140/CSi5?

I looking for a good comparison between these centers from someone how has "been there" Many thanks in advance.

I've got the CSi3, CS-350, and the 400i. I've got the 400i in my "reference" system. It outperforms the 350 and I've never bothered to compare it to the i3 because it wouldn't be apples to apples. Well that and it has the wrong tweeter for timbre matching my other HT speakers.

...for the best all around center.
I'm currently running 3 of them.
2 front center, 1 rear center.
I prefer the dual cs400i's to the cs1000p
I originally had with my RT5000 system.

They sold new for ~400+ Today on ebay they sell *regularly* for $320. So they are in HIGH demand. That is not because they suck.

The only neg to them in their height. I think over 8" which hurts if you have a cabinet to put em in.

Thanks guys,I knew that the 400 had to be a very strong speaker from all the comments I've seen over the years...

They do seem to hold their value very well,I'd like to pick up a pair of RT55i/Rt800i's as the mains also. These too, seem to bring a premium price...

Mike,

I have the RT55i's, 600i's, 800i's, FX500's, CS245, CS400i, PSW450 and a JBL E250P. I keep moving the speakers around trying to obtain the best sound. HOWEVER, the one speaker I haven't touched is the 400i. You couldn't pry that thing off the top of the TV!!! The CSi30 was a dissapointment..the CS245 is admirable...the 400i is untouchable. nuff said.

Greg and everyone else, awesome setups you guys have,I also have the FX500i's and a pair of CS245i's that I could also setup in our "Dream" bedroom system....

How lazy is that? Laying in bed, being blown away by a good movie with Polks all the way around!!!

My bedroom system is 4 Paradigm Reference in walls with the csi3 for center. Sounds quite nice.

wallstreet, very nice setup indeed...what kind of monitor are using?

I'm thinking a flat panel...

Flat panel would be nice. But no, I've got a entertainment center armoire that holds all of the equipment. It's got a 27" Mitsubishi in it right now. The Paradigms really rock for their size. I'm afraid to run the Paradigm reference floorstanders up against the LS90's. I might catch upgraditis.

We also have a 27" Mits that we've had for a while, still performs very well...because of room constrants I hope to come up with a flat panel of some sort...

I've never listened to the Paradigms, but from everything I've read they must be a very good line...
