Trey (AKA Sid, AKA Vr3MxStyler2k3) used spray on truck bed liner... nice, mat black pebbled finish to a pair of his homebrew speakers.

Never used it...
Yet...I got a can though...
I used PE's grill cloth and spray paint...
The truck bed liner is great, just the wrong time of year to use it...wait till it gets warmer...for a better finish...
Make sure you spray paint the enclosure a good one time over for a base coat though

And if the can said to jump off a bridge would you?:D
I painted these when it was like negative 15 celcius with trunk bed liner. The instructions are for losers!

should you sand first to rough up the surface?

MDF edges like to absorb paint so it should be primed first. I did sand my box first with 80 grit.

what do you use for primer? and did you sand the edges to curve them alittle or you just got a slightly curved finish after spraying on the liner?

He used a router

No router on those speakers above. To get the rounded look I used 40 grit sand paper followed by 80 grit on the edges. I used a latex primer aswell.

Thanks Sid, but the truck liner is idiot proof. It fills in the small imperfections from the sandpaper and screws.

Thats good to hear!
I bought some to use on some small shelves I made that are 'extentions' to my surround shelves to hold movies and such...
Cant wait to give it a go!

It tells you how to on the can...
Like 6-8" back...evenly spraying it across the surface...
Once you get a can...u'll see...
