Preamp advice

I need some advice on choosing a stereo preamp. I was looking to get a Parasound PHP-850 to match my HCA-1000 amp, but that pre is discountinued. I would like some thing similar in that price range. I don't need anything fancy. Any suggestions?
I was also considering the Audiosource preone, but I have been told it's not that great. I would also prefer new, unless it was a killer deal. Thanks

You're not going to do better than that 850 under 1K or so. Check audiogon and Ebay...that's definitely the preamp to pick up if you can find it...

I have one,parasound ph/p850 replaced by my tube pre-amp... I know this doesnt help now. but i'm thinking of selling it.. will let ya know if you don't find one elsewhere...

i'll vouch for it, i just got the pre used from this sight. it was a huge improvement over the rotel i had. its amazing the performance it gives me for the less than 200 used i spent for it.

you want to make an effort to find it and get it in your house asap :D
