well i think this was my last visit to the theater for a looooong time. just saw the ring 2 (yaaaaaawwwwnnnnnn). went to the video store and walked down isles ......... nothing new . went home and watched the incredibles (which i'd bought for the kids) .which i actually enjoyed , great use of bass and surrounds.
i think hollywood is out of ideas . the trailer for war of the worlds looks interesting . has anyone seen anything worthy of a two hour investment lately? i don't mind renting a dud but twenty bucks to take a nap leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

if you can manage the theater experience.. go check out Million Dollar Baby. WOW what a movie. It's a must see in my book. don't wait for the DVD.

Yep.

Problem is -- due to the advent of DVD's, most people have access to thousands of movies at any time just by going down the street to Blockbuster, using NetFlix, etc. or subscribing to paid programming. After a few years, the movie watching experience loses its appeal for some people because it's all the same sh*t. Back in the day, we went to the theater to see a movie and it was a big deal, but now we can watch them 24/7 or even digitally record them to watch whenever we feel like it.

Besides, Hollywood is very monolithic in its approach to the kind of movies they will release, so creativity is limited. Like, who wants to see another reluctant superhero movie? Personally, I "settle" on watching movies that I wouldn't ordinarily view because the pickings are slim. It's ashamed when the better movies out there tend to be cartoon characters, i.e. the Incredibles. God forbid if we made more interesting movies with real people.

So to eff Hollywood, let's produce a movie called, "The Polk Players." It's a story about these guys (and a gal) who spend all of their time on an Internet forum talking about audio. It'll have mystery (where does Russ really get his gear and how many ho's has he pimp slapped?), murder (George hunting down Max for suggesting the Tosh), action (we'll go behind the scenes at a Polk gathering and see the strange things alcohol makes people do), sex (we'll revive the Good Babe thread and show ALL of the lovely ladies posing for the camera), violence (we'll show lots from bloodshed from the next guy that tries to remove the Good Babe thread); horror (Russ will dance naked); and drama (we'll show Sid's darkest secrets and what motivates him to make so many posts).

Just a guess, but "hurp" is a cross between hurling and burping. It can also be referred to as pre-hurl, mini-vomit, re-eating or burp ball.

I use "thurp". When you burp a little throw up.
