Is there a way to date vintage polk speakers? For example are the serial numbers consecutive?

Easy...pop out a driver turn it over and read the date on the back.
The best way is to read the date on the crossover, as it's most likely never been replaced....drivers sometimes get swapped.

Yep, that's probably the easiest, unless your series was only made for a year or two... then you'd have a pretty good idea to start with.
I was surprised to find that my "vintage" monitor 10 Series 2 speakers were manufactured in 1991! and probably sold in '91 or '92. Not too vintage in my mind, but I guess they were the last of the original Monitors.

Mine are monitor 7's. I will pop a tweeter out when I get home to check them. Curiosity has gotten the better of me.

Ahhh the monitor 7's. my first vintage Polk. A very lovely speaker. regret getting rid of them and the monitor 10's. :(

Dinner and a movie...
Possibly a long, romantic walk on the beach hand in terminal, terminal in hand...
Afterwards, a vibration or two, and the wave goodbye from the car...
Sounds lovely.

And this is one date you can view naked and still have approval from the parents.

Made May 30th 1989. Like yours, not to vintage, but I am happy with them anyway.
