LSi9 wiring to a Sonos ZonePlayer

I recently purchased a Sonos system and would like to connect my new Polk LSi9's to the Sonos ZonePlayer. The Sonos (http://www.sonos.com/products/zoneplayer/specs.htm) specs say it is rated at 50W minimum RMS per channel (8 Ohms, 20-20kHz, THD+N < 0.02%). Is this sufficient for the LSi9's? The difference in the nominal impedance from a 4 ohm and 8 ohm rating is lost on me.

Would you recommend I connect the LSi9's through a separate pre-amp?

I would recommend getting a seperate power amp- you stand a good chance of melting your sonos if you turn up your volume too loud and the LSi9's are pretty power hungry. If you want cheap, an old Adcom 545 or 555 will do you fine, or start a new thread asking about good power amps for the 9's.

You'll just leave the speaker posts on the sonos empty, and run a pair of RCA's from the sonos variable output to whatever power amp you choose.
