Has anybody noticed that the sweet spot is in different places depending on the recording? I notice this particularly with my Erich Kunzel & the Cincinatti Pops Telarc recordings. These recordings sound better if I move my seating position back a bit. I wonder if this is because it's orchestral music (wider soundstage to create) or if it's a result of Telarc's recording techniques? I guess I'll have to do a little more experimenting.

Maybe because those Telarc bass drums will cause one to soil one's self if too close?!

Telarc's been my favorite label since the late 70s—here they were, recording digitally before anyone even heard of a CD. But more important—their unprocessed recordings.
They do throw a wide soundstage—probably BECAUSE of their 3-spaced-omnis micing.
