I'm not the most technical when it comes to subs, so I might be using the word "blown" loosely. Several weeks ago I watched Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow. Mid way through the movie the subwoofer started popping very loudly. My first thought was that I must have blown the sub, but I read threw some of the past forum posts and wasn't 100% sure that this was the case. I had the subwoofer turned up pretty High, but nothing that I would have expected to blow this size sub. I decided to keep using the sub and adjust the volume settings on both the receiver and the sub (receiver is Panasonic SA-HE200). At first the popping would only occur when the base was very deep, like a big explosion in a move. But now, even the slightest signal sent to the sub causes the popping. I'm pretty sure the thing is in need of repair, but I'm open to trying any suggestions.
I have had the sub almost two years now, so I think it is still under warranty (if this is covered).

Have you tried replacing the sub cable. My monster cable just went out the other day. For no reason it just started to make a hiss come out of all my speakers, I changed it out and it's all good again.
btw, the cable I had was only 1 month old.

Hello,
In all likelihood the 10" woofer has been damaged and would have to be replaced. To do this you would remove the grille cover and you'll see a decorative gasket hiding the screws that hold the woofer onto the cabinet. Peel the gasket off of the circumference of the woofer and remove the Phillips head screws that hold the woofer in place. Once the screws are removed you should be able to pull the woofer away from the cabinet and unplug the two screws attached at the back of the woofer. Box the woofer up and send it to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name, address and a copy of your sales receipt. The service department will quickly send a replacement woofer and gasket.
Regards, Ken
