best amp and preamp used for under $1200.00

I have a pair of Klipsch klf 30's that two 12inch woofer and a 5inch mid horn and a 3 inch horn tweeter. Thease speakers can be biamped.

I would like to initially buy a amp + preamp combo and later biamp the speakers using a tube amp to run the top end?

I dont know weather or not to run a tube preamp .

I listen to 70 and 80's rock and modern Jazz.

Please give me some feed back. I want to make my purchase by 1st of june.

The speakers are very efficent. 1watt= 102 db.

I will use a cambridge audio 640c azur cd player and I need a good phono section and two preamp out put for multiple amps.

I would say you'd be very happy stepping into the world of tubes since they match so well with Klipsch. I can't point at any equipment in particular, but tubes in general would be great. You don't need much power, either, since your speakers are so efficient. I'd head over to Klipsch's forum (here) (http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/default.asp?sessionID={1F8C1348-2D33-4866-8DA0-CEF75013849A}) and see what they say.

George, is the TFM-35 a common ground amp? If so would you be interested in selling it seperately? I have a M 500t but it is non common ground and I can't use it with my SDA 2A's. Thanks

I believe it is a common ground amp, as Bob McG. was using one for awhile to drive his SDA's.

As of this writing, the gentleman who started the thread is looking at a 1 Jun purchase date. If for any reason the transaction doesn't come to pass, yes I would consider selling the power amp alone.
