I had a Marantz 1150 integrated amp that I bought in Okinowa back in 1977 for a close- out price of $75!!!!
I've seen that same amp go on Ebay for close to $300.
I wish I still had it, but for what the old classics are going for
right now, I'll stick with modern equipment.

I've got an 1122 sitting here collecting dust, come get it.
That's a nice 2270, I don't know about the 'discrete' talk though. AFAIK , they are chock full of op-amps.
Cheers,
Russ

I dunno. I think some things are just worth it. Don't know that I would actually use it....just put it in the enclosed glass rack in the living room just to stare at. I just love that vintage Marantz stuff. If russ posts a pic of that integrated I'm gonna' go nuts.

Russ sold me a very nice 2270 a few weeks ago for a fraction of that price. Granted mine does not have the box or all the other fancy fixins and mine is probably a 7.5/10, but from 5 feet away it looks perfect and it sound AWSOME!
Also I would never pay that much for something like that on ebay. Pictures can be decieving and you can't hear what it sounds like on ebay. I would have to see and hear in person before I plunked down $685.00 on a 2270.

Forgot to mention what I was running with it. I was looking for small(watts) vintage reciever to run as a bedroom system. Russ mentioned he had a few Marantz recievers so we worked out a deal on the 2270. It is overkill for my purposes, but I love it. I am running it with a pair of minimus 7w's right now, but I have a pair of Polk Monitor 4A's coming. And I have a Technics SL-Q3D TT and comp for sources.

Yeah, and not even with the original pre-out/main-in jumpers
Not that they're that hard to find but if I was going to spend that much I'd want it absolutely mint and original. That's about as nice as they come though. I sold a nice one with the wood cabinet awhile back for over $300 and I thought I did pretty good. 6 hundred and 80-freakin'-5 bucks! Yep....I'd put in it in the glass case for sure.

I have a 2270 in very good condition that I rescued from the trash while on a bike ride. That was fun to carry home while riding. It needed a little cleaning but everything is completely operational. I also saved a NAD power amp and a set of Infinity bookshelf speakers. All from within three blocks from home.

Wow. Now that's a bargain! Though, I'd hate to see what it would've looked like if I had to carry it while riding on a bike! I can't imagine how many times I would've dropped it on one of its corners on the pavement.

Apparently these folks are fond of Marantz, also. Holy crap. The other one is now for sale if you are interested.
