SDA Grills?

How many of you that own SDA's listen to them with the grills off? Every time I listen to my 2a's with the grills off it seems like a veil is lifted and I much prefer the way they sound this way. Also does anyone have any experience with recovering their grills with a more acoustically transparent cloth? If so what did you use and are you happy with the result?

hmmm? i honestly don't hear much difference with the grilles on or off. maybe., my hearing isn't that good anymore..
