Hallo everybody out there.........
new to all of this...and really not a audioholic, just like very good sound.....
so my small problem: I have the RTi12 - 2 days now, how many hours do they have to run to break in?
and I read somewhere that the RTi 12 are infact 4ohm speakers ???is that the reason why my Yamaha is so hot, after 2 hrs of HT.
by the way they are wired to the A terminals.
If anybody could help would be nice....dont want my new Yamaha and my new RTi12 blowing up......
thanks a lot.
John

Hi and welcome. Congrats on the new gear.

I am sure you have the manual and it reads:

Nominal Impedance 8 ohms
Recommended Amplifier Power 50-500 w/channel

I own a Yamaha RX-V1500 and RTi100's. I would guess that those speakers are demanding and once I added a separate amp, I noticed a huge improvement in sound. I never noticed my AVR getting hot (before or after the amp addition).
