I'm planning on using RC65i's for rears, but putting them in the ceiling rather than the wall.
Is this a bad idea? Should I just buy the actual in-ceiling type speakers?

Hello Todd,
Thanks for your post. There's no problem using a rectangular speaker in the ceiling, it will work fine. Sometimes owners prefer a round speaker in the ceiling to match the shape of lighting fixtures, but other than that there's no difficulty.
Take care, Ken

I am soon going with either 6.1 or 7.1. To match my existing inwalls (AB755s) I will use a second pair of the same. Although they are in wall speakers they will be going in ceiling. As Ken stated, there is really no difference other then the look your after.

My thanks to the both of you!
I'm shopping/installing for my in-laws, so I decided to play it safe. I've purchased the RC80i's.
I'm not sure what I'm going to have to deal with in the ceiling, so I opted for the smaller speakers.
I'm pairing them up with the RTi8 towers, and the CSi3 center. Any idea if these will all match up well?
Again, thanks for the replies and info.:)

I just don't think inwalls give you as much 360 degree sound as the round speakers do. Could be a placebo kinda thing.
