Secure center speaker to top of TV ? RM6900

Have RM6900 and Sony 42" LCD.
Need a way to secure center speaker/cradle without leaving a residue in case I decide to move it someday...
Have tried double sided tape but couldn't hide it...could see it under the cradle...
Read somewhere about using putty. What/where can I get this magic putty?
Or another idea?

Is building a little shelf above the LCD out of the question? If not, do that and set the center on it.
