Hi to all
I am thinking about getting RTi8's. A lot of people here at this forum suggest getting a CSi5 as a center to match. However I am thinking about getting a CSi3. One reason would be that CSi3 is almost half of the price of the CSi5. Does anyone think this would be a good idea? I know that both of them are good match for RTi8. Have anybody heard both of them with RTi8? Also my rears are FX300i; I don't have that much money to replace them now. I know that FXi30 would be the match for RTi8. Should I replace my rears or can I use my FX300i.
Thanks for all your help.:)

No personal experience here, but lots of people on here swear by the CSi5. I personally have a CSi3 and it is adequate, but not stellar. If you decide to go with the 3, let me know and we may be able to work something out on mine as I would like to upgrade to the 5. Mine is black in perfect condition.

You can never go wrong with a larger, better center. Dialogue is so important. The only thing I don't like about the CSi speakers is a little bit of sibilance in S sounds during dialogue, but other than that it is a stellar speaker.
Doesn't much matter that you're using the CSi5 w/ the RTi8's. Just because they are a bit smaller than the 10's and 12's doesn't mean it will throw off your soundstage by having a large center. The drivers match and the 8's are only a few Hz less extension than the 10's. It will be a great system with the CSi5. The 3 isn't bad, but it's not the best choice for a medium to large sized room.

I have thew 8's and a 3. I find no sibilance what so ever. All that being said, an upgrade for me down the line would be the 5. But if $$ is an issue I would opt for the 3, it's not the best but it certainly is not bad at all. I have a medium room 14W x 16L, I also have a dinning room attached to the living room so this makes my living/dinning 22ft Long.

I have the RTi8's and CSI5 center. I must say the combo is truely impressive! Crystal clear sound and makes dialoge so much easier to follow! Dialoge is everything in movies.
I always say - buy right, buy once. No need to ever upgrade. For now that is :D

Yeah, if you can swing the $$, go for the CSi5, you won't be disapointed. I have the same set up: RTi8's w/the 5 center and love the sound.

I don't own them but I do sell them daily and I feel the 3 can get washed out a bit with the 8's up front. Sure it'll work but just doesn't have the stance it needs to IMO.
