I can get 60% off of Polk RTi series but NOT the LSi series.

I was wondering if the difference in sound quality between the two was worth passing up the 60% off and paying retail price.

I saw the LSi9 around for $899 a pair

I can get the RTi8 for $360 a pair

I can get the RTi6 for $200 a pair

Is it worth the extra money to buy the LSi9?

Thanks.

You'll need to audition some 9's and decide for yourself.

Wish I could.

Personally, I'd go for some RTi8's and an SVS.

Someday, I wouldn't mind having a 2-channel rig with Lsi's or better.

You also have to consider the equipment you'll want if running the LSi series.

With the RTi, you can do good with running a receiver, but the LSi will really require that you spend more money on amplification...

I like the LSi, but it's not worth the increase in price to me right now...especially since you can still get a really good deal on RTi in some places...

I have the 9's and when I compare them from my small Rotel amp to running them directly off my 3805, there's a world of difference. If I didn't have the amp to run the 9's, I probably wouldn't have got them simply because of the sound difference. It's like buying a classic vette all gorgeous with a blown motor and you swap it out with a real nice 4 cyl. Sure it moves down the street but it just isn't the same.

Good point. I'll give that a "+1"
