WTB: CHEAP portable MP3 player

I'm now able to listen to music while I work in the lab and would like a very cheap MP3 player to use. My lab coat gets thrown around, I bump into stuff all day long, and there's the potential of some good chemicals getting splashed on me, followed by a nice shower, so I'm not looking to spend a small fortune on one. Believe me, I'd love to get an iPod but that's not in my budget.

I'd like to keep it under $50. Let's see what you guys have!

try ebay and look for a Sony mini disc player that plays mp3's

they have a newer version out called HI-MD (or something like that), each disc holds a gig of music/data and each disc is only about $6 or $7. not too bad.

Fry's was selling some refurbs fairly cheap, recently. If you have one near you, it'll probably be worth it to go have a look.

Try doing a search for iriver mp3 on ebay...you can probably get a 512Mb for around 60.....I use mine everyday.....

Fry's does have several on sale. One example: Samsung XP-MT6V 256 mb for $79 new. Another is an AVB 512 mb for $59.99 new.
