Is 24" too short? There's some demo UF's at audioadvisor, but I'm a bit reluctant given the height.

I'd look into getting these stands (http://audioadvisor.com/store/productdetail.asp?sku=TARGETHR60&product_name=HR%20Series%20Speaker%20Stands%20-%20Pair) over the UF's. They come in 24" or 28" heights and you can probably get more sand (or shot) in the Target stands than the UF's. Just my 2 cents...

Yeah, I saw those- the woman isn't a fan. Are they that much better?

Any height is acceptable as long as the tweeter is at ear level in your favorite listening position.

Not sure if they're "better" I just think the more mass/weight you can get inside the stand, the better. Just by seeing a pic of the two stands it looks like you should be able to get more mass inside the target stands, especially the 28" ones.

I use 30" stands... perhaps 24" is too short - but that all depends on your sitting position and ear-height.

I use Omnimount Cosmic 30" stands.
