WOULD THIS MATCH UP OK WITH RTi70's. CAN ANY POLK CENTER MATCH UP WITH ANY TOWER OF POLKS AND BE TIMBRE MATCHED? OR ARE CERTAIN SPEAKERS IN THERE LINE TIMBRE MATCHED TOGETHER?

THANKS

I don't know you can check the website and see what the recommended match is. Sometimes things can match up from a different series. Such as the Common R50/CS1 match.

I do know there are a lot of caps in your post. Just for future reference check your Caps lock key, not the easiest thing to read.

The CS245i has a trilaminant dome tweeter, your RTi70 have silk dome tweeters. You would be better off getting a center with the same silk dome tweeter. Like the ones that I mentioned in your original thread.

FYI, you should stick to the same thread for questions like this.

Is the center a CS245, or 245 'i'? The 'i' series has the trilaminate, and the 245 (minus the 'i') has a black, polymer dome. The poly domes seem 'cooler' than the trilaminate tweets. I have a CS245 matched to a pair of RT12's. They work seamlessly. Your RTi series of speaker would probably work better with a newer center. The 245 and 245i were produced in the (late?) '90s.

the matching center to your rti70s would be the csi40 (ideally...same woofs and tweeter as your 70s)...or the smaller one with the matching tweet would be the csi30. I don't think the cs245 or 245i would be a terrible match (it would match better than, say, most other brands of center (Klipsch, Infinity, whatever)...it just wouldn't be an exact timbre match.
