This year's Tour de France

So what do you guys think about this year's race? Think Lance will take it again?

And why do they run this thing in the middle of summer - it is summer over there now right?

I haven't seen demiurge on here lately...but let's try to avoid the whole "all those guys are doping" line of discussion.

Just wondering what you guys think, if you even care.

Lance is the man, and I just don't see anyone taking him in this particular race. Maybe his living in Texas helps him with the heat issue of running in the middle of summer.

Supposedly the field is a lot better this year, so he's going to have better competition...we'll see how it all shakes down.

I know some people don't like him, but I'd like to see him keep on winning.

I don't like total dominance so much in team sports because alot of times you can buy your way into a champoinship, but with individual sports like this and golf, I love to see one person just dominate the compatition. I loved watching Tiger dominate the PGA a few years back, but alot of people hated it - but look what that did for the sport...

Anytime someone this great can bring new interest in a typically obscure sport, I view it as a good thing.

Plus, total American domination on French soil can't hurt either.

I hope he pulls it off.

Exactly, I wouldn't care if Jane Fonda put her commy ass on a bike and went over to France and won the race as long as an American won it. That is why all the BS about doping came about in the first place, an American was dominating "their" race.

The whole doping thing didn't start with him. To think that Lance is the only one using is foolish (sorry Danny).

Been watching some of the Discovery channel LAnce Tech specials this week. The dude is super human, he is doing EXACTLY what he was put on earth to do.

On the drug testing front, they did note that Lance is the most-tested athlete ever.

That proves nothing really. The testing might be better than in the NFL but they are still using and that's very hard to deny when you look at them. Testing might limit them in their use but it does not prevent it.

I don't want this to derail into doping discussion so I won't post anymore about doping in this thread.

I think Lance will win again because:

He is very fit with low body fat.
He has a very strong team that is fit also.
His pedaling style is very efficent.
He works very hard training.
He wants to win.

He will keep the yellow from now to the end.

The reason Lance does so well is that his heart and lungs are much larger than most folks. More oxygen is pumped through his system resulting in his spectacular preformances.

That and he has a great team too.
