I have a "vintage" realistic spl meter from radio shack. I swiped it from my dad who used it in his day of being an audio freak many years ago. My question... what is the single rca output on the side of it for? Everything else is normal but I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned or maybe mines just special and original...

An output jack for connecting to other test equipment like scopes, analyzers etc, can also be hooked to recording devices.

yes you can, but would highly recommend that you investigate the fairer sex instead. I believe you will find it a much nicer experience. lol hook it up you have to adjust gain to prevent more than 4 db swing or the amp will clip and have to get the weighting right depending on source.

Ok thanks... I might try that if I every get a tape deck but I personally don't see that happening anytime soon. It drives me nuts to not know what functions of my gadgets do so thanks for the info.
