Got the day off, everyone is gone, just me,

my faithful beagle, and of course of Ms. Cleo who is out chasing the birds.

So am getting a chance to open the big boys up in the REEL TIME RIG. Using the pioneer passing through the OINK into the B&K, AK and Union Station are hitting it hard, damm woman sings like an angel, the amp is not breaking a sweat, she is "striding in rythym" yea she got rythym all right. Yep, the covers are off, its going to be a great day gettin my groove on, lets see, not 11:00 yet, maybe I'll have a beer at 11:00, it will be 1:00 in Bermuda hell thats late enough.

Mike,

B&K has a rep of being on the warm side of nuetral, they make pretty good shite, high current powerful amps, this one is 75 amp pk 2 pk, putting out about 400 per channel at the 4ohm for my SDA.

Still groovin here, moved on to In the Flesh with Roger Waters, Dogs, the SDA is strong in this one, in my best Star Wars voice.

Rockin out to my work system... R15's are belting out some Rush... the Live in Rio concert :). Wish I had the DVD here, but I have to settle with the CD rips. Oh well... I get to leave here soon. Sneaking out in about 5 minutes to get an early start on the weekend. Lets hope nobody goes looking for me in the next 3 hours, 'cause I ain't here! :D

Oh yeah, I threw back a cold one, too... a nice, cold, Dr. Pepper :)

Your not Alone Mike.

I'm sitting here in my 10x15 office with Meatloaf blasting on my $75 Best Buy portable radio. But, in 7 hours I'll be on my way home and when I get there, grab a couple cold ones and then have the wife drive to the theater for a late show of War of the Worlds, and the next 4 days, nothing, I'm not going anywhere or doing anything other then a BBQ at the brother-in-laws on the 4th, where fireworks are legal. Got me a 6 pack of 3 stage mortars just a wait'n.

I can't wait to get the hell out of here (work) today. Going out to dinner w/friends and gonna get silly. It has been a particularly tough week this week.

Since I'm single and live alone, I get a lot of alone time w/ my system and I love it!! Not sure what I'm going to do if I ever get a serious GF or get married again. I guess that's when I get a dedicated sound proof room.

To everyone...have a safe and Happy 4th of July

Well I don't have to wait for the 4th since today is Canada day for me up here... fireworks are not legal here except on halloween :( I guess I'll just have to whip out some nice imported firecrackers :p

What kind of laws do you people in the us have for firecrackers? Cause that's all mine have come from :D

When people leave the house I too willl be upstairs for a while listening.

We got restrictive laws as to what you can't use, the problem is enforcement with so many using the big stuff. I like watching the big sky rockets myself but don't care for the 1/4 sticks that get tossed in my yard.

The big worry will be grass fires this year because of the hot weather and no rain for the last few weeks. All you can do is have a garden hose ready and standby.....especailly when your between houses that get in a rocket fight that escallates from pop bottle rockets to mortars.

Scomp,

I thought someone said that Adcoms had problems running sdas?

Yea things like 1/4 sticks are a little scary... what is even scarier is even up here they are really easy to get a hold of for cheaply. The amount of firecracker dealing in schools here is crazy.

The rig is running and it begins... sorry neighbours :D

I hadn't picked up on that. The guy I bought the SRS 2's from has a pair of the GFA-555's (200 WPC @ 8 Ohms, 325 @ 4). He ran them bridged. They sounded pretty good to me, though I'm no audiophile.

According to the Adcom's specs, bridging them increases the distortion, but I'll only have one amp for now, not bridged of course. He was the original owner of the SDA's and blew a tweeter after the first year due to running them underpowered. When he spoke to Polk about a replacement tweeter, they recommended the Adcom 555 to him so he bought a pair.

The amps are in good shape though, the cat left them alone. He has the original manual and priced it fairly, so I'll give it a try. It's much better than what I got now, which is nada.

That adcom will run your SDA's just dont over do it with the gain.

Well my "alone" time is nearly over, gearing back now with a little high rez Clapton.

Going to be a great weekend.

I thought certain adcoms had common ground problems or something but I must have been mistaken. Have fun with the new amp... when you get it :)

It appears you might have remembered it from this thread (http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28633&highlight=adcom+and+sda) with an Adcom 5400. I appreciate the heads up, better to research, ask and stay on the safe side!

The previous owner did have the original Polk non-common ground interconnect cable (which he used with the two seperate amps) along with the standard interconnect cable too.

Possibly the GFA-565's which are mono-blocks....those are the only ones that could possibly be troublesome dont quote me on that though.

None of the stereo versions should have any trouble.

Heck, I threw back a couple of Heinekens at lunch. Not a favorite of mine but they were free, the secretaries bought.
