Hope it comes down to Roddick and Federer again.

Federer is the best tennis player I think I've ever seen. It's ridiculous.

And i hope Lyndsey chews up WIlliams just to spite her father.
After all- us white people are BAAAAAAD news. SHe's looking good right now!

Federer certainly has been bringing his A game to the table for a while now. Roddick is fun to watch too. I prefer the American to win, but it should be a good match regardless of the outcome.

I used to watch it quite often back in the 90's but lately havent been enthused about it as much.

The Williams sisters and especially their father ruined womens tennis for me. Nevermind the fact theyre 6'3" 180 lbs playing women 5'2" 120 lbs but everytime they got a bad call they screamed racism! :rolleyes:

I liked it better when it was Sampras and Hingis that ruled.

agreed. I still remember 1991 when Connors made it all the way to the quarters of the U.S. Open (or Wimbledon?). That was the best tennis I had ever seen in my life.
And good point Mac.Leod about the Williams sisters. I'm a fan of Venus and especially Serena- but not a fan of their father.

(edit) Venus sounds like she's making it with a horse out there. And I thought Seles was loud.

I wanted Sharapova to repeat. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous, she's extremely talented to boot. At first the Williams sisters did for tennis what Tiger did for golf. They opened the eyes of people that would have never watched the sport. But after their father opened up his mouth with all the "racism" remarks, their popularity plummeted.

BTW, is it me or does Serena look like a full-back with boobs.

I disagree with the Tiger analogy.

If theyd been 5'2" 120 lbs and whooped everybody then youd have a point. But since theyre twice the size of the average competitor it aint the same.

It would be like the New England Patriots playing in the NCAA football league!

They need to move up to the mens division.

I also kinda got bored with the Kournikova thing as well. 100% of the press and hype went to her which was easy cause she was usually elimanated from a tournament in the first round so she had plenty of time left for interviews! :rolleyes: I just thought it was stupid that the most popular tennis player wasnt any good! Kind of like NASCAR. Earnhardt Jr is the most popular driver and keeps losing! I blame this all on MTV!!!

I meant that Tiger and the Williams sisters blew the racial/ethnic/cultural barriers out of the water, not their playing skills.
