The sub blew.

My dB104 is not dead but dying. Looks like the spider gave up the ghost and split on the top of one of the concentric ridges. I snagged a 12 inch dB off of eBay but I will need to build a new box. I'll need a new grille too 'cause teh Kicker grille I have is for a 10 inch speaker and not a 12 inch speaker.

Got it in November/December of 1996.

Yeah, it was about 9 years old. The original Kenwood amp I was using to power it still works like a charm too! So does the original head unit!

The dB124 is DOA. The VC rubs on the pole piece. While damage like that can happen in shipment, it usually isnt this pronounced. Either way, it's DOA.

The guy tells me "You can try going through FedEx insurance because they are the ones who broke it..." So I guess I'm shit out of luck on this one. Glad he only screwed me out of $30.

There is a guy in Washinton that has a pair of dB104's in a box but is local pick up only. Nothing other than that right now. Gotta be patient I guess.

Youre kinda damned either way. The only place to find old DB subs is used and off Ebay which is the last place you want to be buying off of.

Why not break down and buy some $40 10 off of Sounddomain to hold you over til you find a good replacement? Driving around with no sub is going to wear on your nerves after a while!
