crutchfield says they are discontinued and plus they are out of stock at polk right now. maybe they will get some in or they maybe discontinuing the 300 x 2 all together. its a damn shame though, cause i wanted to get two of them for my momo system. im running alpine amps right now.

well, i dunno about the thing being discontinued, but cardomain.com is having a huge sale (http://www.cardomain.com/item/POLC3002) on the 300.2... worth a look...

Hmmm. May just be an end of year clearance type of thing. They may be coming out with redesigned models and so theyre getting rid of the the old ones.
I doubt if Polk would quit making these. Theyve been a pretty big hit from what I can tell.

@_@
That's quite a sale!!
I sure hope Polk doesn't discontinue them. They really seem to be great quality amps. And if they're redesigning them, I sure hope they don't mess 'em up cosmetically. MTX Thunder and Alpine V12 amps looked great. Now they both look absolutely horrible. I can't stand the way they look. The current Polks look flat-out awesome. They shouldn't be changed cosmetically at all!

Awww...that's nothin'! Fry's had them for $147 EACH. Long story short, one died, just traded it today. I was looking around for them when I noticed a couple of places (Outpost included) have stopped listing them. Thanks for the input!

Not discontinued... just a markdown on 'em since they're a couple years old.

Cuz the new models arent out yet Id assume. Its my guess Polk is reworking the amp either internally or cosmetically or both. Until the new line is out and ready to be shipped youll only see the old models out for sale.

I got mine from Crutchfield for $199 almost a month ago. I've had nothing but bad results. I'm driving 1.... only 1 15" POLK Momo (SVC) sub. It blew the channels out on the amp -- and then killed the replacement C300.2 amp in less than an hour.
Nothing wrong with my wiring... as I'm currently running an Alpine V12 in it right now -- and it runs well.
What have I learned from this?? The C300.2 may be a good amp... but it sucks ass if you want to run it in bridged mode. It can't handle its own power.

Not calling you a liar but after 2 years on here thats the first complaint Ive heard about em.
Ya may have just had bad luck and got a couple lemons.

I wouldn't totally rule out user error either. Could have been wired wrong...

True, most cases do seem to be operator error but since he's since had success out of an Alpine V12 amp I figure he knows which wire goes where.
Plus, Alpine V12 amps usually arent used by rookies.

well how long has the v12 been on the sub compared to the polk? usually things dont mess up overnight.
maybe you had a setting on the amp wrong or something. youre the first person ive heard that has had any problems with a polk amp

I'll be bridging one with a 4ohm load. I went ahead and pulled the trigger so I can have all Polk amps and speakers in my '06 ThugStang project.
Anyone need a really nice Kenwood amp that can easily push two 12's?

The 300.2 can do bridged mode, you just can't clip the signal.
Fry's has them on clearance this weekend for $99. I might just have to run down and pick up a couple or more.

I am going to go to my local Fry's to take a look :) .
When I called, the guy said there was 4 left. I said damn, I don't get off work til 6pm, and he said not to worry, that they all wouldn't sell before then. Right???

Wish I had a Fry's near me!! :( There is NO WAY that amp can be beat for a meager $99. I'd buy every one you can.
I just snagged a 300.2 NIB off the bay for $149. I have a stack of red and black boxes almost as tall as me now. :)
