Hey guys, I think it's time to start building a new system for my car. I've been putting off getting an amp for my db series speakers but now think it's time to seriously think about it. My first step is replacing my head unit. I want an MP3 unit for under $200 that will have all the pre-outs I need to amp the speakers and possibly a subwoofer later.

While looking through CarDomain.com I found the Panasonic CQ-C7301U and it looks like it might be what I'm looking for. Right now I have a Pioneer DEH-1600 and don't know much about the different brands of head units. I know Pioneer and Alpine make solid units but I'd have to raise my price limit quite a bit to get models by those brands that fit my needs. Does anybody have much experience with the Panasonics? Would it be a smart investment? Thanks in advance.

I've always thought Panasonics video products were pretty good. I love my Tau TV. I just haven't known anyone who had any of their audio equipment.

I wouldnt touch their speakers with a 10 foot pole but their head units are very good.

I have one and love it. Very user friendly, very solid feel to it compared to Pioneer and Kenwood. I recommend it.

Thanks for your opinions guys, I placed an order for it last night on CarDomain.com and should have it by the end of the week. I can't wait.
