Hey,

I got a headunit problem that i was hoping someone could help me out with. My pioneer head unit has a couple different settings which it allows you to put it on. The four options are:

PREOUT: FULL
PREOUT: S/W
REAR SPREAKER: FULL
REAR SPEAKER: S/W

The only option which allows me to use my sub controls is the last one but when this option is selected the rear speakers do not put out and music or vocals.

Anyone know about this stuff?

i can't say i know specifically what you're talking about, but with my encyclopaedic knowledge of car audio i think i can figure it out :).

i do believe that that control selects which preouts/outputs send which signal. more i cannot say for sure until i know the configuration of your HU. how many preouts does it have (i'm guessing one)?? how is it hooked up to your amp(s)? basically, give us a rundown of your wiring.

Looks like it could be a low pass.

Preouts at full range or subwoofer maybe cutting at 80 HZ.

Or it could be as New says, it lets you configure for a subwoofer output.

I dunno, maybe RTFM!!!

That sounds like my P8. I don't remember which did what, but there is a way to get rear speakers and your sub pre-out. Read the manual. Or maybe I'll remember to look at how mines set up, not that im running rear's.
