Polk DX6, Will these fit in door slot...

...of a 94 Toyota Tercel? I would like to use them over the DX5's if possable...

The dx5' are too large for this application. You would need to
construct a new mounting bracket to get them to fit. The factory opening will only accommodate a 4 inch speaker plus there is limited mounting depth even thoght the grille is over sized.
From an ease of installtion standpoint, you might want to use the dx4's. But if you are good with your installation skills, it would be well worth the effort to install the dx5's.
