Are used R40s worth $100?

I personally don't know the value of the R40s and thus if they're worth 100, especially used. However, I can say that you pretty much can't backtrack when you're starting with a HTIB.

perhaps circuit city still has some of the r50s left for ~100 a pair? i'd call them and ask first... i personally wouldn't take used r40s for over ~70

You're not getting hosed by any means, but you can do better for the same or a little bit more.

Good idea, Fry's have sale on R50 in Southern Calif around once every other month.

Twice a month in NorCal :p ...

I've only seen that $100/pr price once last week. Normally its $69/ea. Then goes back to $200/ea. Don't know about GA, but keep checking it out every Friday.
