I am thinking of buying a H/K 235 receiver to replace my cheap onkyo htib 230. I am going to buy a pair of rti8's as well. I can't afford buying separate amps at the moment, would it be better to bi amp the speakers with the onkyo or just have everything hooked up to the H/k?

Just use your h/k... don't muddy the waters with a jury rig solution. Your h/k will keep you satisfied for a long while.

Thanks for the advice I probably wont need dedicated amps for awhile. The new receiver is a must I have the rti4's and when I compare them to the demo room at fry's using the h/k receiver the difference in sound quality is HUGE.

You can't bi-amp a toad stool with a receiver or a pair of receivers.

Well that settles that.

Hope you enjoy the #235, it looks like a very nice receiver!
