I have a question that's probably been answered a thousand times and may sound stupid. I have just purchased a receiver with Video Conversion (S-Video to Component Video). It is the Pioneer Elite VSX-56TXi.

Does this mean I can use S-Video cable instead of Component Video and get the same result or should I just use component video for a better result??

Thanks

What it means is that you can use Composite, S-Video and Component Video inputs, and unit will convert all of those inputs to one Component Video output. It cannot upgrade the signal quality, but can upgrade the connection. Component Video would be a better connection, but if you have to use S-Video in, you can go component out to the TV. This is only useful if you need to use your receiver as a video switching device.
