I have the 8 new tweeters for my old SDA SRS's to replace the SL2000's. Real simply...I take it the spike with the red paint on it is the positive terminal? There is no + or - sign on these, like the SL2000's. Interestingly, when I pulled the first tweeter out, one of the wires had a little white chord wrapped around it...I thought that would be the positive wire, it was hooked to the neg on the SL2000 tweeter. Also, is orientation important when installing? Meaning...does one end need to face up or down on these tweeters? The SL2000 had the positive terminal side pointing toward the ceiling and the neg down, toward the floor.

Yes, and No.
Red or white to positive.
I also noticed there didn't seem to be an orientation, top and bottom, on the new tweets,
so I just put 'em in as you said positve on top, as it lined up with the wiring better.

If I remember right each tweeter had a white wire and another wire of various colors. The white wire is negative. The red dot designates plus.

On my 1C's, some of the tweeters had two black wires going to the connectors, but one of them would have a piece of white tape wrapped around the end.
I didn't notice any that had both a red and white wire, but in such a case, yes, red to positive.

Well, I have changed them out. On the left speaker, all positive leads were facing to the ceiling...but, on the right side speaker, all SL2000 negative leads were facing up. I did the same with the replacement tweeters. They do sound very good, and they're not even broken in yet. Definitely not harsh like the SL2000's were.

Cool! Mine didn't take long at all to break in.
